Joe Carnahan to Direct Netflix's 'The Operator' Starring Mark Wahlberg

Joe Carnahan has signed on to direct 'The Operator,' a Netflix action thriller starring Mark Wahlberg as an ex-Tier One special forces operator working as a CIA clean-up man, Deadline reports. Harrison Query's spec script sold to Netflix in a competitive deal in December 2025. The Picture Company, Municipal Pictures and 12:01 Films produce. No production start or release date is set. Carnahan's last Netflix film, 'The Rip,' drew 41 million views in three days.
