Netflix Buys R-Rated Comedy Spec 'Wingmom' in High-Six-Figure Preemptive Deal

Netflix has made a preemptive high-six-figure buy of "Wingmom," an R-rated comedy spec by Sam Laybourne, per Deadline (26 August 2026). A preemptive buy means the script was acquired before being shopped to rival bidders. Jeff Robinov and Tabitha Shick of Talking Pictures produce. At least one actress is already circling the lead.
