One King, three roles: Charles heads to the Caribbean as monarch, guest and Commonwealth head

Buckingham Palace announced a nine-day tour from 27 October to 4 November 2026. In The Bahamas, Charles arrives as Head of State. In Guyana — a republic since 1970 — he comes at the President's invitation, marking 60 years of bilateral relations. At the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, he presides as Head of the Commonwealth, a role entrusted by member states in 2018.
