Channel 5 chief Frow will scrap finished shows over welfare concerns, amid Blackbox lawsuit

Paramount UK content chief Ben Frow told the Edinburgh TV Festival on 26 August 2026 that Channel 5 will "write off" completed or near-completed series when significant welfare concerns are raised. He spoke after Deadline revealed Blackbox Multimedia is suing Channel 5 for wrongful termination and unpaid fees over a crime drama pulled during production. Frow declined to comment on specifics but said Paramount takes "contributor welfare very seriously."
