Gwangju Biennale restores "Taiwan Pavilion" name after weeks-long naming dispute

The Gwangju Biennale Foundation approved the name "Taiwan Pavilion" on 26 August for a satellite exhibition at its 16th edition, opening 5 September. The foundation had unilaterally renamed it "NTMoFA Pavilion" on a 15 August poster. Taiwan's culture ministry objected, citing a 2 April agreement. Installation at Gwangju's Asia Culture Center had been halted. The biennale has not explained the original renaming.
