City rip out four midfielders and spend £200m-plus on rebuild

Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Tijjani Reijnders and Nico González — four frontline central midfielders — have all left Manchester City this summer. Director of football Hugo Viana has spent over £200m on replacements: Ayyoub Bouaddi (€95m plus add-ons), Elliott Anderson (£116m) and a planned bid for Chelsea's Enzo Fernández, valued at £120m. Bouaddi, 18, goes straight into the squad for Friday's trip to Crystal Palace. The bet is on players yet to kick a ball in this league.
