Swedish developer builds 1.9-square-metre flat to show what a 25-year-old can afford

Swedish housing developer Riksbyggen and agency BBDO Nordics have built three fully furnished micro-apartments sized to what a 25-year-old can afford to buy: 1.9 square metres in Stockholm, 3.1 in Gothenburg, 4.5 in Umeå. The figures come from Riksbyggen's square metre index, using data from Statistics Sweden and digital bank Avanza. The campaign was announced on 20 August 2026.
