Bencic and Cobolli knock out Williams-Alcaraz in US Open mixed doubles quarterfinals

Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli ended Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz's 2026 US Open mixed doubles run, winning their quarterfinal 5-4(4), 4-1 at Flushing Meadows. The fast four-game, no-ad format left no margin: Bencic and Cobolli took the first-set tiebreak 7-4, then broke to close the second. Williams, 44, returned only in doubles. Bencic and Cobolli advance to the semifinals.
