Paramount faces $7 million daily penalty from 1 October as merger trial waits until March 2027

Paramount must pay Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders $7 million per day from 1 October 2026 if the $111 billion merger stays blocked, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird noted in a 25 August Daily Wire op-ed. The antitrust trial — brought by 12 states and the Writers Guild of America — is set for 2 March 2027 in Oakland.
