Jane Fonda defends Ruffalo, calls Paramount's antisemitism charge "a smear"

Jane Fonda, describing herself as a Jewish American, defended Mark Ruffalo on 26 August after Paramount called his criticism of the Ellison family antisemitic. Fonda called the charge "a smear to delegitimize criticism of the merger" — the planned $111 billion Paramount–Warner Bros. deal — and said antisemitism accusations must not silence political dissent (Variety).
