Meta labels Instagram's First Draft as "machine learning," not "AI"

Instagram's new First Draft feature uses machine learning to trim silences from Reels clips and assemble them on a timeline. It launches on iOS first, with no Android date. Meta's choice to say "machine learning" rather than "AI" is, in this author's view, a refreshingly honest label at a time when competitors stamp "AI" on anything remotely intelligent.
