Iran and Oman Propose Joint Hormuz Corridor and Mine Clearance

Iran and Oman announced a framework on August 25 to jointly manage a temporary navigation corridor and clear mines in the Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of global oil flows. This follows President Trump's claim that all mines in international waters there have been removed. Iran retains its broader blockade pending US sanctions relief and asset unfreezing.
