Metro 2039 gets February 2027 release date, new protagonist at Gamescom Opening Night Live

4A Games revealed new Metro 2039 gameplay footage at Gamescom Opening Night Live on 25 August 2026, with a second trailer titled "Renegade" following the same day. The game introduces a new protagonist, the Stranger, and is scheduled to launch in February 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Hands-on demos are available at Gamescom in Cologne from 27 to 30 August.
