Shonda Rhimes renews Netflix overall deal for five more years

Shonda Rhimes has renewed her overall deal with Netflix for a further five years, keeping Shondaland and producing partner Betsy Beers exclusive to the platform across series, films, games, live events and merchandise, Deadline reported on 25 August 2026. The Bridgerton franchise recorded 610 million views since the first half of 2023, per Netflix. Season five is in production in London.
