Palestinian artist Sliman Mansour dies in Jerusalem at 79

Palestinian painter Sliman Mansour died in Jerusalem on 24 August 2026, aged 79, his family announced. Born in Birzeit in 1947, Mansour built a six-decade career depicting olive trees, village women and the Palestinian landscape. His works entered the British Museum in London and Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha. Al Jazeera, Hyperallergic and Artsy reported the death.
