Rotella's 1960s décollage gets first U.S. focused showcase at Independent 20th Century

Voena, with galleries in London and Milan, presents "Mimmo Rotella, 1960s" at Independent 20th Century (24–27 September 2026, the Breuer building, 945 Madison Avenue, New York) — the first U.S. showcase focused on the Italian artist's work from that decade. Rotella (1918–2006) invented décollage — tearing layered advertising posters off city walls — after walking through Rome in 1953. The presentation traces his shift from hand-torn posters to late-1960s Artypo works using industrial billboard-printing processes, a period when he met Andy Warhol in New York.
