Ethiopia and Southern African quartet bid to host 2028 Africa Cup of Nations

Ethiopia has submitted a government-backed bid to host the 2028 Africa Cup of Nations, aiming to bring the tournament back for the first time since 1976. Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe have launched a joint rival bid. CAF president Patrice Motsepe said the confederation had received "exciting bids" for the 2028, 2032 and 2036 editions.
