Cambodia's Oscar Selection Committee chose Polen Ly's debut narrative feature "Becoming Human" as its submission for the 99th Academy Awards' international feature category, Variety reported on 25 August 2026. The film opens in Cambodian cinemas on 27 August. Lights On handles world sales. The ceremony is scheduled for 14 March 2027.
