FA to fund Women's National League clubs for the first time

The Football Association will provide central funding to Women's National League clubs for the first time, covering tiers three and four of the women's pyramid. Announced by FA director of women's football Sue Day on 24 August 2026, the reforms take effect from the 2027-28 season. The FA has committed to an annual review of the model's impact.
