South Korea picks Lee Chang-dong's 'Possible Love' for Oscar race; Netflix eyes best picture too

South Korea submitted Lee Chang-dong's first feature in eight years, 'Possible Love,' for the 99th Oscars' international feature category, KOFIC announced on August 25. KOFIC said Netflix is also targeting best picture; Netflix has not commented. A limited US theatrical run opens October 23 before a global Netflix launch on November 6. Lee's 'Burning' was the first Korean film to reach the Oscar shortlist.
