2025 Palme d'Or short-film winner Tawfeek Barhom to star in 'Borderline,' pitched at Haugesund

Tawfeek Barhom, who won the 2025 Palme d'Or for best short film with "I'm Glad You're Dead Now," will headline "Borderline," a French feature from Les Valseurs being pitched to buyers at the Nordic Co-Production Market in Haugesund. The Arabic-language film expands Yves Piat's Oscar-nominated short "Nefta Football Club," with Barhom as a border customs officer whose integrity is tested by a donkey carrying cocaine. Spain's Sumendi co-produces. (Variety, 25 August 2026.)
