Giovanni Pernice says BBC response to Strictly complaint left him suicidal

Giovanni Pernice told The Daily Telegraph (25 August 2026) he felt suicidal after the BBC "hung me out to dry to cover their backs" following Amanda Abbington's 2023 Strictly complaint. He said he was "spiralling mentally" and thought "Let's end this." Pernice left the show after nine years. The BBC has not publicly responded.
