124 Estonian Artists Donate Works for Emergency Auction After €700,000 Fraud

Criminals drained roughly €700,000 from the Estonian Artists' Association (EKL) in Tallinn via phone fraud targeting its chief accountant, discovered on 15 May. Police detained two suspects on 25 May. With artist salaries at risk, 124 artists donated paintings, prints and photographs for an emergency auction to help cover the loss, ERR News reported on 24 August.
