FBI Returns 48 Trafficked Artifacts Spanning Three Eras of Egyptian Civilisation to Egypt

The FBI's Art Crime Team returned 48 illegally trafficked artifacts to Egyptian officials at a ceremony at the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office on 20 August 2026, the FBI's Los Angeles field office stated. The objects — carved figures, amulets and tomb equipment — span the Pharaonic, Roman and Coptic periods. The FBI did not disclose how the pieces were seized.
