Russian drone strikes Blue Shield-marked museum in Kherson

A Russian drone struck the Kherson Regional Art Museum in southern Ukraine on 20 August 2025, sparking a fire that damaged furniture, flooring and electrical systems. The building was marked with the Blue Shield, the internationally recognised symbol for protected cultural property under the 1954 Hague Convention. Rescuers extinguished the blaze; no injuries were reported, according to NV.
