Prince Harry leaves African Parks board after charity admitted ranger abuses of Baka people

A spokesperson confirmed on 24 August 2026 that the Duke of Sussex is no longer a trustee of African Parks, which manages 20 million hectares with 13 African governments. The charity admitted last year that its rangers committed human rights abuses against Baka people at Odzala-Kokoua national park in the Republic of the Congo. Survival International had called for his resignation. African Parks expressed "deep gratitude" for his ten-year commitment.
