Television guitarist Richard Lloyd diagnosed with bile duct cancer; GoFundMe launched

Television co-founder and guitarist Richard Lloyd, 74, was diagnosed in March 2026 with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer that has spread to his liver. Surgery is unsafe. He has been in intensive care seven times and cannot perform. Bandmate Sean Seymour launched a GoFundMe seeking $80,000; roughly $48,000 had been raised as of 24 August. Patti Smith donated $5,000.
