Barcelona condemn "disproportionate" police force on fans before Elche opener

Barcelona condemned local police for "disproportionate" force against supporters queuing outside the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero before their 5-0 LaLiga win at Elche on 23 August 2026. One fan was detained. The club said the arrest "lacked the necessary justification and appropriateness" and pledged to "protect our fans at the Camp Nou and beyond."
