Recognised as a prince of Belgium, Clément Vandenkerckhove gets no allowance, no succession rights, and keeps his surname

Clément Vandenkerckhove, 26, was officially recognised in 2025 as Prince Laurent of Belgium's son. Under the Belgian constitution he is a prince of Belgium. He receives no royal allowance, holds no place in the line of succession, and says he will keep the surname Vandenkerckhove. Laurent's recognition followed no legal dispute.
