Ricky Martin cast in Gael García Bernal's 'Hombre al Agua,' his first Spanish-language screen role in over two decades

Ricky Martin has been cast in and will executive-produce Gael García Bernal's third directorial feature 'Hombre al Agua,' Deadline reported on 24 August 2026. Martin plays Roby, an actor portraying Bernal's character Camilo in a film-within-a-film structure. It is his first fully Spanish-language on-screen role in more than two decades. Martin joined the Mérida, Mexico shoot on the eve of production, his involvement disclosed only after cameras were rolling.
