Retailer Video Game Plus refuses to stock Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2 over code-in-box format

Independent retailer Video Game Plus will not stock the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, citing its code-in-box format — a download voucher locked to one account, with no resale or sharing. VGP stated: "We believe physical games should actually be physical games." Activision has not officially announced the format. Pre-orders open August 26, 2026; launch is October 23.
