Dutch FA to review protocol that let match continue while fans lay injured
Five SC Cambuur supporters suffered burns, eye injuries and hearing damage when Feyenoord fans threw fireworks into the home section during an Eredivisie match on 23 August 2026 in Leeuwarden. The game resumed because only fans were hurt — it would have been abandoned had a player or official been hit. The KNVB's Jan Bluyssen told ANP that "doesn't feel right," and the Dutch FA will revisit its disorder protocols.
