Globe's As You Like It paints its forest live on stage each night
Shakespeare's Globe's Summer 2026 As You Like It uses large blank canvases, drawn on live with charcoal tree illustrations during every performance, so the Forest of Arden grows in front of the audience and no two shows share the same painted stage. Designer Paul Wills created the set. The production, co-directed by Sean Holmes and Charlie Josephine, runs at the Globe Theatre until 25 October.
