Two separate Jane Eyre stage productions open within weeks of each other this autumn

Two unrelated Jane Eyre productions open almost simultaneously. A musical by John Caird and Paul Gordon receives its UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse Elephant from 28 August to 24 October 2026. A touring play using Sally Cookson and Mike Akers's adaptation, directed by Lily Dyble, opens at Mercury Theatre Colchester on 26 September, then visits Kingston, Newcastle and Chester through November.
