Mateta takes Crystal Palace contract dispute to FIFA

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has asked FIFA to void the optional final year of his contract, which runs to 2026-27. If he succeeds, he becomes a free agent far sooner than Palace planned. Employment lawyer Libby Payne told BBC Sport such challenges rarely succeed. Palace have 10 months left to recoup a fee.
