Booker winner Marlon James returns to longlist with The Disappearers

Marlon James, who won the 2015 Booker Prize for 'A Brief History of Seven Killings,' is longlisted for the 2026 Booker with 'The Disappearers' (Hamish Hamilton, UK; Riverhead, US). The 640-page novel mounts an exposé of homophobia in AIDS-era Kingston, Jamaica — the city where James was born. The US release follows on 1 September 2026 at US$32.00 hardcover.
