Port Adelaide will match any offer for Butters, forcing a trade

Zak Butters told Port Adelaide he will exercise restricted free agency to return to Victoria. The 25-year-old dual All-Australian drew reported offers of $18 million over eight years from Richmond, Geelong, Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs. Port Adelaide CEO Matthew Richardson says the club will match any bid, forcing a trade in October rather than letting Butters leave for nothing.
