Suspended Swans banned from Brownlow night but still eligible to win the medal

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon confirmed on 24 August that the five Sydney Swans suspended for the rest of 2026 — Isaac Heeney, Nick Blakey, Chad Warner, Riley Bice and James Jordon — will not be invited to the Brownlow Medal ceremony. They remain eligible to win the award: the rules contain no conduct clause stripping eligibility. Dillon also said the AFL will not enquire further until the police investigation concludes.
