Kristy Ellis named permanent CEO of QMusic after two-year interim tenure

Kristy Ellis has been appointed permanent CEO of QMusic, Queensland's peak contemporary music body, following a nationwide recruitment process. Ellis held the interim role since April 2024, when predecessor Kris Stewart stepped down after five years. As CEO she oversees BIGSOUND, the annual summit and showcase, and the Queensland Music Awards. QMusic chair Jake Challenor confirmed the appointment.
