Manchester United beaten 2-0 at promoted Hull on opening day

Manchester United opened the 2026-27 Premier League season with a 2-0 defeat at Hull City, who came up via the play-offs. United finished third under Michael Carrick last term and signed midfielders Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos over the summer. Around 2,400 travelling fans heard Hull supporters chant "You should have come in a taxi" after two trains to Manchester were cancelled.
