Ridley Scott at 88: "I'm not a film-maker, I'm an influencer"

Ridley Scott, director of Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator, told The Times of London he no longer considers himself a filmmaker. "I'm an influencer," he said. The interview, published 22 August 2026 and reported by Variety on 23 August, also confirms Scott's next film is The Dog Stars, starring Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley and Josh Brolin.
