PETA writes to Buckingham Palace urging King Charles to disown the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel name

PETA president Ingrid Newkirk has written to Buckingham Palace urging King Charles to disassociate himself from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, arguing the royal name lends prestige to a breed prone to syringomyelia, which PETA says affects over 70% of dogs. Buckingham Palace has not publicly responded. The King is not believed to own any Cavaliers himself.
