Composer Nick Glennie-Smith, The Rock and The Lion King collaborator, dies at 74

British composer and conductor Nick Glennie-Smith died on 16 August 2026 at his home in Charlottesville, Virginia, aged 74, his wife Jan confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He shared composing duties on The Rock (1996) and conducted Zimmer's scores for The Lion King, Crimson Tide and Transformers as a 28-year member of Remote Control Productions.
