ZZ Top Play First Show Since Frank Beard's Death, Five Days After Drummer's Passing

ZZ Top returned to the stage on 23 August 2026 at Austin's Moody Theater, five days after drummer Frank Beard died at 77. The show, billed as a tribute, featured Michael Monahan on drums. Gibbons told the crowd Beard had asked that "his man Monahan" take over when his bass drum foot weakened. The Big One! Tour continues through October.
