Sony emails PlayStation users terms reminder days before #PSBlackout boycott

PlayStation users received an unprompted email on 18 August reminding them of Sony's Terms of Service, including the clause: "The Software is licensed to you, not sold." The email landed days before the #PSBlackout boycott, running 23–30 August, organised by fan group DoesItPlay over Sony's plan to end physical disc production in January 2028. Sony has not linked the email to the boycott.
