Tarling third in Vuelta opener eight days after brother's death

Josh Tarling finished third in the Vuelta a España opening time trial in Monaco, four seconds behind winner Tadej Pogacar. The 22-year-old Netcompany Ineos rider made his own decision to start the three-week race, his team confirmed — eight days after his 19-year-old brother Finlay died in a collision during the Volta a Portugal. Pogacar beat Ethan Hayter by nine hundredths of a second.
