All Blacks end four-year Ellis Park drought, thrash Springboks 33-16 in series opener

New Zealand beat South Africa 33-16 at Ellis Park on 22 August, scoring five tries to one in the opening Test of the four-match "Rugby's Greatest Rivalry" series. It was the All Blacks' first win at the venue since 2022 and reversed their 43-10 defeat by the Springboks in Wellington in September 2025. The second Test is in Cape Town on 29 August.
