Janie Bradford Hobbs, co-writer of "Money (That's What I Want)," dies at 87

Janie Bradford Hobbs, who co-wrote Motown's "Money (That's What I Want)" with Berry Gordy, died August 22 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles following an extended illness. She was 87. Her family confirmed the death. The 1959 Barrett Strong recording was covered more than 200 times, most famously by The Beatles. Gordy called her part of the original Motown family.
