Hull City stun Manchester United 2-0 on opening day

Newly promoted Hull City beat Manchester United 2-0 at the MKM Stadium on 22 August 2026, the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Semi Ajayi and Nobel Mendy scored a goal each. It was United's first competitive match of the campaign and Hull's first top-flight fixture this term. United manager Michael Carrick was visibly frustrated afterward.
