Fleming steering England from afar before formal takeover

Stephen Fleming, appointed to succeed Brendon McCullum as England's Test coach, won't formally take charge until the winter tour of South Africa. He was in daily contact with interim coach Marcus Trescothick and captain Joe Root throughout the Pakistan Test, which England won inside two and a half rain-affected days. Fleming has approached Mike Hussey about the batting coach role.
